Enjoy a total body workout without leaving the home with this Confidence two-in-one elliptical cross trainer and exercise bike. Designed to provide a low-impact cardiovascular workout for all family members regardless of ability level, the trainer is ideal for event training, rehabilitation, and plain-old cardio fitness. At first glance, the unit resembles a standard elliptical trainer, with a pair of footpads that move in a natural elliptical motion, along with a set of arm poles that move in conjunction with your legs. The smooth, fluid movement will tone your arms, chest, back, hips, legs, and glutes while providing a low-impact workout that's five times as efficient as walking. The trainer's a step above most units, however, thanks to the addition of an adjustable seat, which adds more variety to your workouts. As a result, you can turn your trainer into an upright exercise bike and exercise while standing or sitting. The trainer also strides in both forward and reverse to add even more variety. The Confidence trainer includes an adjustable resistance dial to keep you challenged, along with a four-function onboard computer that tracks your time, speed, distance, and calories. And at 34 by 60 by 24 inches (W x H x D), the trainer won't take up a ton of room in your basement or garage. The Confidence two-in-one trainer offers a maximum capacity of 250 pounds and weighs 65 pounds by itself.

I am disabled, and have been fighting my weight since an auto accident in '99. My left quad muscle was virtually destroyed; making most aerobic exercises virtually impossible for me. Until recently, walking and running were simply too hard on my back and leg to make it a worth while. i also have to wear an orthipedic shoe lift making is difficult to use other machines that have just standard bicycle pedals. Plus, most machines were just way out of my price range and I didn't have the room for these monsters. This machine is perfect for; I've been using it since it arrived and have only one mild complaint. The plastic seat is really hard on my backside. I'd love to have a cushioned seat for it. The machine is reasonably rugged, the on-board computer is simple to use but I don't trust the accuracy of the calorie counter. I also agree with one of the other "reviewers," the resistance dial doesn't seem to do very much.
The assembly isn't that complicated in my opinion though as others indicated; it only took me about thirty minutes or so to get it put together.
Overall, this is great machine for the price. I haven't found a better deal yet anywhere.

Yes, it's hard to put together. But once you've finished, you'll realize you've got a good (read non-flimsy, which was what I was worried about) machine for a low price. Exactly what I wanted.
nice surprise

I bought this with a little worry because of the many negative reviews. I was having such a hard time agonizing over spending a lot of money that I just wasn't exercising so I decided just to get an inexpensive one and get going. What a great surprise! I thought it was easy to put together, it worked well right away, isn't too loud, and is fun to use. I suppose every different body shape feels comfortable on a different shape machine but this one suits me just fine. I can't sit on the seat and use the handles but I don't really want to anyway. It's just fine for a good basic workout to get your heart going.
Good low cost workout

The 2 in 1 Elliptical arrived sooner than I expected. I checked to make sure I had all of the parts and started to assemble. When I tried to mount the nylon locking nut on the rear left pedal, I found that it came cross threaded. I went to Ace hardware and they were able to find a reverse threaded nut which the left pedal requires. This type of nut is uncommon and difficult to find. During assembly, I applied grease to all of the moving parts that I assembled. When I tried out the 2 in 1 for the first time, I found it to be very quiet. When sitting on the hard seat in the bike position, the handles are too far forward and force you to lean too much which puts pressure on your back. The elliptical position is perfect for me. During the second workout, the wheel started making a loud clicking sound which became a scraping sound. I took some WD40 and sprayed it at the device that connects from the digital monitor to the wheel. This worked and now after a month of workouts, it's silky smooth.
This bike had a rough start but now it's perfect. |
Best investment that I have made in myself.

I purchased this machine the first week of November 2008. I can truly say that this machine is the best investment that I have ever made in myself. I try to work out at least 5 days a week for a minimum of 30 minutes. In 30 minutes I can burn off around 700 calories and if I push myself and go 45 minutes I can easily burn off 1000. I do this at a moving rate of 13 mph. I have lost a total of 4.5 inches and I basically eat the same way that I did before but now my body is in shape and I feel better and sleep better. One other thing that I really love is that I barely even break a sweat until I get past 30 minutes. I really love this machine. If you want to feel better and look better and not kill yourself trying to do so then I suggest you buy this machine. Sincerely a happy buyer.

I really didn't expect such a solid machine for the price. It was a breeze to put together and fits in a compact space. Very sturdy with smooth performance. It's a machine that will be used and enjoyed. Great product!
Nice but be a little cautious

I put it together with 3 kids helping in an hour and love it. Gives you quite the workout as well which is very nice. Doesn't take up too much room, so it's great if you have a small space. The only problem that I have with it is that after a month of using it 5 days a week is that it starts making clicking noises and it feels like it's falling apart. They do offer a one year warranty on all parts but if you don't know what the problem is then how are you supposed to fix it? If you want a good workout then buy something that is a little more sturdy and will last you longer than a month.
Great for the money

I use this all the time and I've had no problems. It's a little loud but for $100 I can live with it. It works well and is a great product for the money.

This is a good starter. You do get what you pay for. Ours has been easy to put together and use. Our children take turns using it and it does not make noises. We have had it for almost 2 years. But if you are overweight it may be too small for you. I don't know what the weight limit is and we are all about average or under average weight.

I bought this exercise trainer about 5 years ago. I got my money's worth from this piece of equipment, & not to mention in the process I lost 60 lbs. exercising with it daily. It's a much better investment than the more expensive ones that last only as long. I am about to purchase another one of these babies to replace the old one.
Love the 2 in 1 !

I am so glad to have purchased the bike. It is heavy and stable, occasionally after a lot of use, you may need to tighten the arm , but takes a second to reach down and turn the knob. It definitely gives a good work-out, makes the heart pump faster, and is worth much more than paid. This is a super bargain price !

I read the reviews before I purchased this item. I was worried mostly about putting it together and the seat. I didn't have a problem with either of these. I find the seat quite comfortable as it is wide. As for putting it together, my husband did this in about an hour. Only one part held him up, but it was his fault, not the directions. Of course, for the price, you don't get all of the bells and whistles but you can't expect that. It's wonderful for the price!! Sturdy. A great workout!
Can't be beat for the price...

I know for a fact that there are much, much, much better products out there. But they also cost a heck of a lot more. I paid $130 for this, and it was fulfilled by Amazon, so I got free shipping. I honestly don't know how you could do any better than getting something like this for a little more than $100. I've seen $100 bikes in various stores, and they are awful. They look like they are going to fall apart if I sit on them. This one isn't too bad, plus you get the option of using it as the elliptical.
As others have pointed out, it could be somewhat difficult to put together if you're not mechanically-inclined. The instructions are not well-written, and you need to put a little muscle into some of the tightening. You're definitely going to want to have a can of lubricant on-hand. Another issue others have pointed out is that this thing can be very loud if you're really pushing it.
All-in-all, though, like I said, I doubt you could do any better for the price. |
Great machine for the price...a monkey could build this.

Please don't be discouraged by those who claim that this thing is impossible to build. It is super easy. The directions actually aren't that bad. The worst part of it all (and this is why people may have been having a hard time) is that the hardware included with this machine (bolts, nuts, etc...) are pretty poor, thus it makes tightening and turning pretty difficult. Also, some of the threads are backwards, so you can forget about the "Lefty Loosy" expression. In any event, it's not that hard. It took me 1/2 hour at most. I then hopped on and biked for a half hour. Loved it! Today, I tried the elliptical part of it and it is PERFECT. I recommend at least wearing shoes with it to get traction so you can stride easier. You can't beat this quality for the price. I was pleasantly surprised. You will be too!
Oh Yeah!

I ordered this elliptical because I am a dancer and a runner and I broke my toe. I HAVE to Move! It arrived on time and (thanks to someone out here who did a how-to) it was easy to put together. My walking cast fits on it. I have used it several times, and it is quieter than my treadmill. It gives me a great workout. I am 5'1" and I can reach everything. I like the ability to sit or stand because this broken toe need an occasional rest. I don't have angle problem some folks mentioned. I recommend this machine highly.
