| Sleek and quiet, the Eclipse 1100 HR/A elliptical cross trainer from Fitness Quest makes a terrific home workout accessory. The trainer showcases a unique, patented orbital linkage system that provides you with a smooth elliptical pattern as you work out. As a result, the trainer's quiet, low-impact stride feels completely natural and is exceptionally smooth through the entire range of motion. The machine's expanded electronics package, meanwhile, includes an easy-to-use fitness computer that tracks time, speed, distance, and approximate calories burned. And thanks to the 10 preset workout programs and two heart rate control programs, you can easily define a workout pace that's comfortable yet challenging. Another handy feature is the 1100 HR/A's focus bar, which features built-in hand pulse sensors for immediate heart rate readings. This gives you a convenient way to keep track of your heart rate, helping you stay within the target zone and maximize your calorie burn. Other details include large, slip-resistant foot pedals designed for stability and ample foot room, a 15-inch stride length, a water bottle holder and reading rack, and a set of bottom wheels for easy transport. The trainer, which holds up to 275 pounds, measures 22.5 by 64 by 41 inches (W x H x D), weighs 90 pounds, and carries a one-year warranty. About Elliptical Trainers Elliptical trainers represent the next wave of advancement in low-impact cardiovascular exercise machines and continue to grow in popularity. By simulating motions experienced through walking, stepping, cycling, and skiing, elliptical machines allow for a smooth and fluid motion while building strength in the arms and legs. Similar to the exercise position for treadmills, elliptical trainers are used by standing in an upright position while holding the handrails of the machine. With elliptical trainers, however, your feet remain in the foot pedals throughout the exercise regimen and circulate in a smooth and seamless motion, resulting in little to no impact on the knees, back, and hips. Elliptical trainers are compatible for all ages and fitness levels and allow you to select the difficulty level through the incline and intensity settings. Additionally, elliptical trainers allow you to determine the complexity of your workout based on your needs, all while listening to music, watching television, or reading a magazine while exercising in the comfort and safety of your own home. Although different types of elliptical trainers offer an assortment of features, many of them include an array of challenging programs, forward and reverse directional movement, EKG grip pulse handles, a lightweight portable design with easy fold-up capability, and a monitor displaying calories burned, distance, speed, time, and heart rate. Other types of exercise machines, namely treadmills and bikes, offer excellent cardiovascular exercise and muscular training for the legs in a forward-motion exercise. Elliptical trainers take this to the next level by offering an upper and lower body workout with dual motion, challenging and diverse programs, and a low-impact exercise machine that won't strain sensitive joints. |

For the money...approx $300, you get a very reliable elliptical in the 1100HRA.
I took my time putting the thing together correctly, and as tight as I could get everything when I bought it a year and a half ago, and the thing is still tight as a drum.
A little squeaking developed recently and I was worried....greased the inner parts, to no avail....Then I discovered it was simply the foot platforms that were rubbing. A little white lithium under those platforms and presto, like new again.
Every time I've gotten into a steady 5x per week or so routine, I've been able to drop significant weight in no time.
It works. The trick is staying focused and motivated. |

| We needed something more than our treadmill and Gazelle. My wife saw this unit at an open house so we did some research on-line. It received high marks so we ordered it on-line. It was easy to put together but it does have some mass to it which is a good thing. We have been using it for 2 months and it is almost everything you could want in a home ellipse trainer without breaking the bank. My only wish is the electronics could be powered from the wall versus batteries (4C). We have since looked at many units costing more (~$200+) and they were cheap, flimsy and light. This unit is solid and really gives you a great workout. I have lost 10 lbs so far. I would highly recommend it. |

| I researched elliptical machines for two months. I've tried every model sold in stores and was disappointed by the quality in the under $500 price range. Most cheap ones make you feel like you're always falling forward. The Eclipse 1100 HRA is wonderful! I've been so happy with it. It feels solid, has great programs and gives a challenging workout. I'm glad that I did my research-it's worth every penny. |
Great Value - Recommended by a Personal Trainer for the Price Range

Been using this now for 2 years and a half. Recommended by a personal trainer as a great value for this price range.
Electronic monochrome LCD panel to show distance, calories burn, time, pulse rate and built-in exercise programs
Need some assembly - around 20 minutes
Price when bought - less than 400$
Pros:
-Fantastic customer service. I had a chance to call customer service (Fitness Quest) when the LCD computer panel broke. There was no hassle during the call. They sent me another panel quick and at no cost to me.
-Why spend 500$ or even 1000$ for ellipticals? This do the job for us as the expensive ones.
-Easy to move. It has wheels and you do not need another person's help to move it around the house.
-Not too bulky. Does not occupy a lot of footprint.
-12 levels of resistance.
Cons:
-A bit squeaky
-Does not feel as solid and heavy as the expensive brands. |
Worth every penny!!!

I purchased this elliptical 3 weeks ago after reading 100s of reviews. It was deliverd to my house within 6 days, with the free shipping. I couldn't be happier. It took about 30 minutes to put together. There were a few problems with the screws not lining up with the holes but a couple pounds with the hammer and they went in fine. My partner and I have used it everyday since it was delivered and we are already starting to feel better about ourselves. Our goal isn't necessarily to lose weight but to get in shape and this elliptical, combined with strength training we get from the Total Gym 1700, will help this process along. It does creak a little bit but I haven't made any attempts to see if it needs to be adjusted because it doesn't bother me. Besides that it is a quiet and smooth workout that will help anyone get back in shape. The preprogrammed workouts are very useful and effective. The heartrate monitor is not accurate whatsoever; after 30 minutes of intense workout, it said my heartrate was 75, although my heart felt as though it was going to pound out of my chest.
If you are looking for an effective workout that you can do at home, i highly recommend this. I have paid for gym memberships for the past 4 years and seen little results because I never went. But to have the machi |

I have been using my machine for 2 months now, and absolutely love it. I get a better cardio & muscle building workout than with walking or bike-riding or stair-climbing. I push myself, so it's like jogging without hurting my knees or feet. It is definitely great for body shaping and fat-burning, and it will make you sweat!
It is SO QUIET that I can watch TV or play music while I workout, and have no trouble hearing either one.
If you go forward, it works your quads and calves really hard. If you go backward, you can concentrate on working your butt and thighs, as well as getting better resistance to your arms. The book shows you some different stances that will help you vary your workout. I am 5'9" and think that the stride length is just fine. I am not into taking big, long strides, because I am focusing my efforts on my butt and thighs. The foot platforms are comfortably placed and not too far apart... there is NO stress on my hips or joints at all.
This is a solidly built machine, has quality/well-fitted parts; was very easy to put together. It is compact, and takes up little space. It is very stable, not too heavy, and has wheels on the front so you can tip it and wheel it into place or out of the way. The ac adaptor plugs in at the bottom back of the machine, making it very convenient to plug into the wall. The electronic panel is versatile, allowing you to create your own program if you don't like the ones it comes with; easy to read, too.
I highly recommend this elliptical trainer. I just love it!
The first machine that arrived was damaged in shipping. Had to take it apart and send it back. Amazon and the manufacturer were GREAT! Outstanding customer service! Got my replacement machine VERY quickly, and it arrived in perfect condition. |

| I have owned my elliptical trainer for two weeks now and am thrilled with it. Easy to put together and use. I am a beginner with this at the age of 61 after have a major heart attack a year ago and having to have a pacemaker installed I was a little afraid of this machine. Now I am exercising for an hour every day and am up to 14 miles a day. I feel fantastic and love the silence of the machine even after the use that I have put the machine through. I highly recomend this product to the beginner and the advanced. I am not working so joining a gym is out of the question. This is the closest I have come to a real gym workout. |
Great quality product at an economical price.

Best Elliptical for Money

My first 1100 hr/a lasted for almost three years before I gave it away (I didn't want to have to move it cross-country). The person who got it is still using it.
I bought another one this week after trying to do cardio on my own wasn't working out.
The elliptical helps me to lose weight & stay firm better than ANYTHING else. Better than gym classes or The Firm videos, or anything else. Better than high school athletics (running, running, running!) did. When I use it regularly, I see the fat melt away & the cellulite disappear.
I also love that it has a TRUE elliptical movement, not circular like most "cheap" ellipticals do. This means it is easier on your joints. The Wal-Mart versions (Gold's Gym) hurt my knees within 1 minute. I can run for miles on this one without problems.
Lots of reviews mention quality problems, and this may be so. How I justified this is that a gym membership for me with childcare (I'm a stay at home mom with small kids) costs more than $1,000 per year. If I use this thing for only 5 months, it is more than paid for - not to mention the time and effort and gasoline I didn't spend going to the gym!
I only expected the first one to last about a year - with it on 3+ years and still going - with no maintenance of any kind - I'm more than pleased. I hope the new one stands up as well. If it doesn't, I'll just remember - it is a $400 elliptical! It pays for itself every few months. Even if I only get 6 months out of it, I've saved money over a gym. And my rear end will look fantastic. |
Space Efficient and Affordable

I live in a town house apartment, so a big exercise machine was not an option. The 1100 size was perfect, if size is one of the biggest factors this machine is great and durable. I don't know why some of the machines are so big and bulky and needs even more space for the rotation.
I'm about 5'4 or 5" and 160 pounds. When I am on the machine I have on ankle and wrist weights I also have my 8 pound waist belt on so I am about 170 all together on the machine and it is very durable, the different programs adds a lot of resistance on different levels.
I was a complete gym head so I was a little hesitant on buying an affordable machine for my house because I didn't think it would work, I was so wrong. This machine makes me sweat just as the pricy ones at the gym.
I gained about 20 pounds because of a back injury I suffered last year and this machine does not have any negative impact on my back when I am finished with it my back feels fine even the morning after. I can actually keep a good pace on the machine as if I was running but without the impact which makes me feel really good. I think it's one of the best things I bought in the last couple of years-honestly speaking. |

I have been using my Eclipse 1100 a lot recently and was curious what others thought. I got mine about 3 years ago using credit card points. I did no research at the time. The Eclipse was the only machine in the credit card award magazine.
Over these three years, my wife and I have used it more or less intensely throughout that time. We have never had a significant problem with it, which has been a pleasant surprise to me. In fact, I was amazed to see all the negative reviews recently on Amazon. Not sure if my older unit was built more solidly or what. But we have been happy.
The machine is a little noisier now than when we first bought it, but I still wouldn't say it is loud. You can barely hear it if you stand outside the room (with the door open). I suspect that with a little maintenance (grease or whatever), the noise would disappear completely.
Speaking of grease, the only other problem I can remember with the machine was grease streaks on our carpet after we first started using it. We put a towel under it to save the carpet, but the streaks stopped not long after anyway.
One thing I really like about this machine over the ones I have used at the gym is its compactness. We have it over in the corner of a 12 by 12 room, and it is not a problem. Those gym-quality machines are huge. |

| Wanted an elliptical for my home but did not have too much space. Did my homework and tested many ellipticals at sporting good stores, but all of them were just too large to fit into my space and prices were beyond my budget. The Eclipse 1100 is a great deal. It is really a space saver and can fit into the smallest of apartments. Assembly was not too difficult and getting up a flight of steps was no problem. The workout is as good as ellipticals in gyms - the only difference, which may disappoint some, is the shorter stride which gives you less range of motion. Therefore it feels like it works your thighs a lot harder. Overall, its a great piece of equipment, and allows all of my family the opportunity to work out in the comfort of our own home on our own schedule. Again, great price for a great space saving elliptical that gives you a good workout. |

After doing some research, I picked the Eclipse 1110 because it was rated on other websites as best budget-friendly elliptical. I wanted to spend less than a thousand but wanted a machine that was sturdy and reliable.
It took my husband less than a hour to put it together. I have been using it 3 times a week for 30 minutes a day for the past couple of weeks. It's smooth and sturdy. I like the different programs and levels. After I am finished, I roll it into the corner so it is out of the way.
My only real complaint is that it does not have a ledge to rest a book or a pocket for a remote. But for $400, I'll manage. |

| I've been using the Eclipse 1100 HR/A Elliptical Trainer for about 3 weeks and love it. It was so simple to put together, easy to follow instructions, no problem. It's quite and easy to use. I'm still using the manual program but plan to start on the first programed plan next week. Four to five miles, about 25 minutes... most of the time, I'm using it every day, but do skip a day here and there. I highly recommend it. I'm using it on my deck right not and made a cover for it from a light weight tarp, designed it, cut it and sewed it up. Works great. I couldn't find a cover to buy. [...]. Lynda |

| I am absolutely thrilled with my Eclipse Trainer. I spent a lot of time researching Ellpticals and this is the best buy I've found. It's compact and easy to move, although, it may possibly not be sturdy enough for a very large/heavy man or women. I weight 127 lbs and I have it in a carpeted room and it moves a little as I'm using it, but it doesn't bother me at all. Pluses: Quiet, compact, great programs so I don't get bored and get a great workout, great price, easy to assemble and move. Negatives: Might be too lightweight for larger users, the computerized pulse check doesn't seem to work (always says my pulse is 72), but who cares? So happy that I bought it! |

I have had this elliptical for about a month and so far, so good. It was extremely easy to put together, my 16 year old and I had it up and running in about 45 minutes - however either one of us could probably have done it ourselves in a little more time. I use it about every other day and have had no issues except for some creaking noises in the beginning that have since stopped on their own. The computer is a bit hard to figure out, still working on that as there are no clear directions for it. The instructions tell you more about how to stretch out than how to actually work the machine. All in all, I am pleased with the purchase. For the price I think I got a great machine.

| I did LOTS of research before selecting my elliptical Eclipse 1100HR/A. I drove 20 miles to try this one in the store and I was SOLD! Not only is this elliptical GREAT because it's so compact and has wheels so you can move it around, but it is QUIET. So I've had this model for six years and my normal routine is 30-60 minutes 4-5 days a week. Now it's starting to get loud. But still working GREAT! I'm probably going to replace this one soon cause of the increase in NOISE but honestly, I think it was a FANTASTIC purchase and well worth it! This was the most QUIET elliptical I've tried and had. I'm not sure how long ellipticals are suppose to last, but I think six years (and counting) is pretty good. |

My wife and I did some research to find the elliptical machine that would be good for us. We wanted one that was affordable ($500 or less), one that would not be too bulky but fit our living room, one that would be easy to assemble, and one that was solid, stable, and reliable.
We found all of that to be true of the Eclipse 1100 HR. The price is hard to beat among those of similar quality. It fits perfectly on the side of our living room so we can watch TV while exercising. It only took about 30 minutes to assemble. It feels very solid and stable when we use it. It does rock very slightly, but I'm not sure if that's because our wooden floor is not even.
You will not be sorry to purchase this elliptical machine. |

| We love the Eclipse 1100 HR/A Elliptical Trainer. We've had it for several weeks now and are well satisfied. This compact machine gives a big workout. For quite a few years we had an Eclipse 1000 HR elliptical trainer that finally gave out after many, many hours of use by several family members. We got our money's worth out of that one! Now, after researching the various elliptical trainer options on the web, we have returned to an Eclipse 1100 HR/A as the best value and most space-saving of the machines out there. It would be very difficult to beat the quality and sturdiness of this piece of equipment at this price point. The relatively short base does not occupy a large part of the room but still allows a reasonable stride length in a workout. This newer version has an improved monitor display and more versatility in the workout programs available. In a word, we are very happy with the Eclipse 1100 HR/A Elliptical Trainer. |
