Fun, easy to use and effective

I absolutely love this glider! And for the price you cant beat it.
It arrived practicalyy assembled, you only need to add the handle bars at the top and the on board computer. Which is optional and I choose to not use so I dont focus on "calories" burned but by my own exhaustion and muscle burn. But that's just me.
At first it was very different to use, a smooth fluid motion. But balance was found quickly and then the fun began. This is unlike walking or running, there is no impact and you get more or a back leg and butt workout. You can choose to use your hands in a low, medium or high grip with different results for your upper body and difficulty of workout. You can also choose to rest your hands to the sides for the easiest of workouts or move them along the sides as you would during a jog for more difficulty.
This was surprisingly more difficult than I imagined. I worked up quite a sweat in only 30 minutes and I work out regularly with a recumbant bike and weights so Im in pretty good shape.
This does fold up so you can slide it under a bed or standing in a larger closet.
If your looking for a fun, different type of workout I would highly reccomend this machine.
Really as good as everyone says...

I hate exercise, but I'm 52 years old and tired of lectures from my doctor about "getting daily exercise". A friend of mine bought one of these and I tried it and liked it. I promptly gave my exercise bicycle away and bought a Gazelle Edge.
Pro's:
* It's sturdy.
* It doesn't weigh a ton (46 lbs to be exact).
* It's whisper quiet - you can watch TV or listen to the stereo
at normal levels -or- exercise while the baby's sleeping (if
you have one!) :-)
* It's comfortable (but don't use it with bare feet lest you risk
blisters on the bottom of your feet (been there done that).
* It folds flat

Cons:
* It folds flat BUT the pedals "flop" around on the tether cable
making it awkward to move around. A couple of velcro straps
can fix the problem (hmmmm... I wonder why Tony Little hasn't
thought of that...?).

If you don't like exercising, but must (and we all must...) this is the machine for you. If you don't like the Gazelle then you might as well get back on the couch and forget about exercise all together. The Gazelle will give you the exercise you need, and if you eat right, along with using the Gazelle, you'll lose weight too! Does it stand the test of time? It did for me. My weight bench became a storage rack and my exercise bike became a clothes rack. The Gazelle seems to remain true to its intended purpose in my house.

This baby is the best! I simply get on it and move! After 30 minutes Im done watching TIVO...and I did my deed for the day!/..Very low impact with awesome results!! I am not an exercise person at all. I always got so bored. This I simple unfold very easily and get on it. Ive lost 20 lbs using this in 6 weeks! Another 20 to go!
If you are looking for a great way to shed some lbs and get healthy. This is for you! I love mine and I have never stuck to any exercise regime at all! I wish I had the money back Ive spent on equipment ,in the past, that has turn in to very expensive clothes racks!!
I can hardly walk today

This machine take a MINIMAL amount of balance and corridation. If you aren't able to do it, you probably shouldn't be walking around on your own. I'm a competitive soccer player so I'm already in pretty decent shape, but after just one 15 minute workout my entire body is so sore I can hardly walk today. Abs, chest, shoulders, butt, hamstrings, I can feel it everywhere. Definately the best, fastest and easiest workout I've tried so far. And DEFINATELY worth the price.
I was skeptical...

I was very very skeptical upon reading reviews and the simple fact he markets this product on an infomercial... however with my tax return I decided to go ahead and buy this basic 100$ model. I got on it the first day after I put it together... used it for 20 minutes that night then 10 the next morning. By the time I got off work that evening my calves were so incredibly sore (and my calves were nothin to laugh at to begin with (18 inches, muscle not fat)... wow I love this thing... I had to not do any on it for the next 3 days, I used it again last nite for 20, then this morning for 30... I love this thing, it really works, plus I love if you bend forward from the ankles you can work on your upper body. I highly doubt this calorie counter is correct (260ish calories in a half hour?!?!) However I never trust calorie counters on anything as none are acurate do to the simple fact people do burn amounts of energy a bit differently. I LOVE MY GAZELLE!!! BUY ONE!
I love my Gazelle!

The machine is fun to use and very quiet (which is important in my little apartment). Movements feel very fluid and natural, yet it gives the body a surprisingly good workout. I can really feel it in my arms, legs, and sides. I chose the Edge Glider because of cost and portability. It doesn't have pistons for added resistance like some other models, but I was just looking for something that could induce walking/running motion. For more of a workout, I just run faster or longer, or use a longer stride. And I like the fact that I can fold the unit up and stash it behind a door or in a closet when company arrives. It is rather cumbersome to move, though, so I usually keep it out where I'm encouraged to use it regularly. All in all, a good deal for a useful and sturdy machine. I'm very happy with the purchase.
Be a Gazelle Potato NOT a Couch Potato!!!

If everyone in America would start using the gazelle while watching their favorite TV show instead of sitting on the couch eating junk, the obesity problem would surely disappear!!! I admit to being a little more sedentary than I should have been, so decided to try this since its very affordable, compact, and there are tons of good reviews for it all over the internet. I was NOT DISAPPOINTED!!! Thinking about getting a little more movement into your life? BUY A GAZELLE! It is easy to use and if you make yourself do it (which isn't that hard, since its actually kind of fun!) you WILL notice the difference. You will feel better, physically and mentally. As for the squeaks I see complaints about, I haven't had many, but have used a little lube on it when it happens and then it goes away. I really appreaciate that FitnessQuest has made this so affordable, since some of us can't afford the money or time for a fancy gym membership! The gazelle is an easy and fun way to get exercise (especially if you live somewhere where its snowing, freezing, or raining 6 months a year like me). Plus, if you get into your favorite TV show (mine is Alias) you won't even notice the time going by and next thing you know you've been on it 45 minutes! I wouldn't recommend starting out that long though, the first month or so 20 minutes made me sore... but you do get built up to it. Buy one, you will not regret it and you will feel better! (If you're still not sure, go try one out at the local Sears and see how easy it is, that's what I did!)
Gazelle Edge---Great Buy!

I have tried many different types of exercise equipment and this machine wins hands down. You just turn your tv on, start gliding and before you know it 20, 30 even 40 minutes have flown by! It has helped me increase my weight loss from 1/2 lbs. per week to 2 and sometimes 3 with an average of 30 minutes 4 times a week. My husband laughed when I purchased the glider saying it wouldn't do anything and now that he has tried it I can't get him off it! Don't hesitate any longer and buy yourself one.

first off, i've tried exercising on and off, mostly because i start, i don't like it or don't immediately see results, or i get lazy and i stop, which is really bad.

With the gazelle i've been using it for about 3 weeks now, its really easy to use, and my asthma which has been a problem for a while now is lessening because my lungs feel re-energized. I highly recommend this thing, my muscles feel tighter, my lungs feel better, and i have more energy, this thing is amazing.
Solved a big problem for me

Reviewer: IntegralSSJ,
I've been wanting to get back into exercising. But I don't like the time it takes to go to a health club or gym, they cost a lot and the vibes aren't great for me.

I had a decent elliptical in my garage, but I wasn't using it. I didn't like being in the garage--it's an ugly space, cold in the winter etc.

I got a Gazelle Edge, and it's great! It folds up easily, out of the way resting against a bookcase when I'm not using it. Sets up in a minute (after you've initially assembled it). The motion is very smooth, zero impact, and easy on my bad back. I play with it by leaning forward or back, using my arms more or less. It's an adequate workout.

It's really inexpensive for what you get. It's well built and well designed. I'm very glad to have it.
Quiet and very easy to use

This machine is extremely quiet and so easy to use, the first day using it I thought, no way is this thing going to really work. Just to easy. Stayed on 30 minutes while watching t.v and could have done it all night. The next day I did feel it, in my lower legs especially, so I guess it really does work. My entire family uses it, have to wait in line to use it. So much easier than a treadmill and quieter too. I don't believe the calorie counter is correct, no way I burned over 340 calories in 30 minutes, didn't even break out in a sweat. I would recommend wearing shoes, because doing it barefoot will cause your feet to go numb not to mention those tread things digging in your feet. For under $100 can't go wrong with this machine. Purchased ours at Wal-mart for $94.
great

I bought the gazelle edge at the end of February 07 and as of today, June 29, I have lost 15 pounds. That maybe doesn't sound like much, but I am 5'1" and 122 lbs (now). I started at 137 pounds. I've lost 10% of my weight "running" on the gazelle and doing a very quick workout afterward. I work out 5 days a week and I feel fabulous. The first place I lost inches were my thighes and butt. It was noticeable within the first month of use. I also decided to change my thinking about eating. Instead of eating for pleasure, which most people do, I now eat for necessity. I don't have two helpings of spaghetti, only one. And, if I decide I want ice cream, I have one scoop instead of an entire DQ blizzard. The key to any workout routine is that first and foremost, you have to want to change. The Gazelle has worked for me with no damaging impact on my hips or knees. I love it and recommend it to anyone that is serious about changing their health, their looks, and their attitude.
You can do it!!!

Just got this a few days ago. LOVE IT! It's really easy to use and gives a good workout. I did 20 minutes on it this morning and I'm feeling the burn!

No impact at all, so it's good for those with bad knees. I give it two thumbs up!

Best thing, it's only $99!

The first thing I noticed about the Gazelle is it is a high quality machine- built to last. The second thing I noticed happened the first time I got on the Gazelle- the movements were fun! I was having a blast... exercising. This is a very motivating machine that you are in complete control of at every moment- the computer of the machine is not in control of you! Makes no noise and has practically no impact- and excellent buy for anyone looking to loose weight, tone, or just work out!
great workout

I love this product. I use it every night for at least an 1/2 an hour, after I am through taking care of my 3 children. It gives me a sense of serenity and it also keeps the weight off. I would recommend this exercise machine for those who do not have time for the gym and for those who like to keep the weight of off with out all that sweat.
Easy to assemble, fun to use

I highly recommend this workout product to anyone wanting to do something fun while getting healthier in the process. I burn more calories on this glider than on anything else I've done. [ie, walking for a whole hour equals to about 20-30 minutes on this machine.] It's really easy to assemble, you don't even need help from a man. ;D I find myself wanting to work out everyday so that's a good thing.
Gazelle ROCKS

I just got my Gazelle Edge a few days ago and have been on it every day since. My friend comes over before her "real" workout to use it and she loves it! Says her calf muscles are super sore already (after 1 use). My 10 year old son won't get off of it. The best thing about it is the fact that I can work out at home with a super low-impact machine (bad knees), watch TV, and not worry if someone is on my treadmill at the gym. What's better is if I am doing nothing but sitting on the couch I can easily hop on the machine and do something constructive.
